Description:
Rwanda Shara Baho is a vibrant and elegant coffee from the highlands of Western Rwanda, grown near Lake Kivu in the fertile Nyamasheke region. Produced by the Baho Coffee Company, known for its meticulous processing and strong partnerships with smallholder farmers, this lot represents the very best of Rwandan terroir and craftsmanship.
The Red Bourbon cherries are carefully handpicked and processed at the Shara washing station using a traditional fully washed method, followed by slow drying on raised African beds. This preserves the coffee’s clarity and complexity, resulting in a clean cup with refined acidity and layered sweetness.
In the cup, you’ll find bright notes of mandarin orange and red currant, underpinned by black tea florals and golden honey. A delicate cane sugar sweetness rounds out the profile, and a silky, tea-like body carries the flavors through a crisp, elegant finish.
Why Rwanda Shara Baho is a premium pick for specialty programs:
-
Complex and clean: Ideal for filter brews, offering clarity, florals, and a refreshing acidity.
-
Farm-to-cup transparency: Sourced from an ethical supply chain with traceability and community support at its core.
-
Versatile profile: Works beautifully as a hand brew or a bright, delicate espresso.
Recommended for:
Specialty coffee shops, single-origin pour-over menus, roasters building seasonal offerings, and businesses seeking traceable, story-rich coffees with vibrant profiles.
